|
The 44th Fort Sam annual reunion of company D3 noncombatant troops together with families from across the U.S. recently stopped by the Blue Bird. We appreciate Floyd Graves including us in one of their many stops and hope they enjoyed their tour of Floyds hometown. |

Helga Vogt traveled from Westerlede Germany, to visit her daughter Easter Haffner (originally from Westerlede). Helga informed us Westerlede is near Bremen and is world famous for its beautiful display of Rhodenderon blooms every May & June. I also learned that in Germany cookies are called biscuits. No gravy on the biscuits please. - who knew?

Noreen Farney Bassette, Florida, and life long friend Ann Walseman stopped by to check out the store.
Noreens father, the late Donald Farney handcrafted our cherry shelving and check out counter. He also applied the pine shiplap to the walls, laid the floor, and done other numerous details.
Donald was an extraordinary craftsman, giving a great deal of attention and precision to the fine detail in all his work whether it be creating fine furnishings or building homes.
